Annie's Kindergarten Halloween Party

   I was "chosen" to be Annie's Kindergarten Room Parent. The reason I use the word chosen is because this is a volunteer position and I did not volunteer :) However, I will embrace this and make the best of it. We had their Halloween party today and here I am with my precious bat girl. There was a cute craft, 3 games (ala me), and a healthy snack. I had 2 mom volunteers and over all it was a good time.

One of our favorite times of the day is when we all climb on Annie's top bunk for a story and song. I will treasure these times for the rest of my life. Thank you God for the precious children you entrusted me with.

Pumpkin Patch Fun

We spent the day at Irons' Fruit Farm. It was such wonderful Fall weather and we had a great time. We had Apple cider, apple fritters, and cinnamon sugar doughnuts. We also got to go on a hay ride and Annie rode a donkey.

Pretty Birthday Princess

We had Josie's first birthday party with her cousin Layla at Niederman Family Farm. It was such a great time with beautiful weather. We had a bonfire pit and roasted hot dogs. Afterwards, we went on a hay ride driven by four Clydesdale horses. We ended the day going through a corn maze; they had a small ABC maze for the younger kids and a 3.8 mile maze for the older kids and the dads. All in all it was a wonderful birthday party for Josie.

Josie chowed down on her birthday cake. She ate on it for at least 15 minutes without letting up. When we took it away from her, she yelled at us and then proceeded to lick her fingers clean. She even went cross eyed while licking her fingers. It was so funny!

Family Fun on the Levee

 

We went to Newport on the Levee for some family time. This is picture was taken on the Purple People Bridge. We walked all the way across it and back and the kids thought this was too cool. Then we had dinner at Johnny Rockets (which we will never do again..very over priced..) Then we got ice cream at Cold Stone Creamery and ate it over looking the river. Finally, we played games at Game Works and won some cool prizes. Overall, a very nice family evening :)

This girl is so hilarious. Just looking at her makes me smile :)

Best Buddies

Josie and Layla do not need toys to play with as long as they got each other. They are best buddies and light up whenever they see each other.

A Day at the Zoo

In the insect house, they had a display of Leaf Cutter Ants. These ants are very hard workers and carry leaves half the length of the room. They had dress up containers where the kids could play the roles of the ants. Annie is the Queen ant here.

Logan is the worker ant and Josiah is the soldier ant. The are standing in front of the enclosure where most of the ants are working. This was a cool display!

 

I just love Jomo the large Silverback gorilla at the zoo. Right after this picture was taken he screamed and tried to attack a smaller gorilla that was sitting on his tree trunk. Needless to say, the small gorilla moved fast :)

Howl-O-fest

We spent a Saturday afternoon at Kings Islands' Howl-O-Fest. It was set up very nice this year with a whole section set aside for the kids. They had games and candy stops, a hay maze, pumpkin patch and fun house. We had a really good time as a family.
